Beginning in 2018, Green Garage Art Studio has been busy teaching after school art classes to kids at BF Day Elementary. We’ve created classes geared to ages K-2nd grades and 3rd- 5th grades. We’ve also finished a year working weekly with a neighborhood preschool. We had a blast with a summer mini-camp too! We are gearing up for the next school year with more exciting classes and projects!
Our projects are teacher lead but encourage individual creativity and exploration of materials. Art is so individual. In the classes when presenting a project or lesson that the whole group will do, the outcomes are certainly unique and celebrated. As working artists, we know that art is not always easy- new techniques, challenges of the mind as well as the skill can cause an artist to doubt oneself. But as teachers, we try to find ways to present the work and ideas so that the children leave the studio feeling successful. We adhere to the philosophy of “there are no mistakes”.
